"And there was light!”
After chaos and these key words, a clear and simple C-major chord resounds: a fascinating highlight from Joseph Haydn’s Creation, especially when it is performed with the liveliness heard at the opening of this year’s Haydn Festival in Eisenstadt, the motto of which is “Haydn and Handel”. Highly energetic: festival co-founder Adam Fischer and the Austro-Hungarian Haydn Philharmonic. Pure intonation and homogeneous sound: the Wiener Kammerchor (preparation: Michael Grohotolsky). |

Every sculptural detail was highlighted and yet always subordinated to the flow of the entirety – there was never a danger of Haydn’s lovingly painted, resounding picture-book dissolving into incoherent fragments (as is otherwise sometimes the case). A worthy role in this was played by the well-prepared Wiener Kammerchor, singing with elegance and flexibility.... |

Subtly differentiated, exciting, transparent and with irresistible liveliness: that was the Wiener Kammerchor, the vocal soloists (Lisa Larsson, Steve Davislim and Florian Boesch) and the Austro-Hungarian Haydn Philharmonic under their energetic founder, Adam Fischer. |
